Lately.

Life is happening.  Life at warp speed.  Two kids means two times the fun and two times the activity leaving little time for lazy days or boredom.  That is exactly what I talked about here with just one kid.  During the day, well, it got kind of boring.  Boredom no longer strikes with a 2 year old and 7 month old (wait...7 MONTHS?! That's enough now little Tripper.)  There is a bonus now that Tripp Martin has hit the half year mark and has learned to sleep like a decent human being.  TRAVEL!! For Momma and Dada thanks to the one and only Gra Gra!  I wanted to dedicate a post to Pete and my recent Naples trip.  It was a quick two day getaway, but it was our first since welcoming Tripp and man did it feel amazing.  That type of alone time out of the chaos of work and home life is so, so necessary and so, so uplifting.

I also wanted to do a special dedication to a recent girls weekend getaway at the St. Regis Atlanta in Buckhead.  But, alas, the girls and I were having too much fan to snap any pictures.  Well, we did snap one of the t.v. within our bathroom mirror and another that is not blog appropriate.  Some things must remain private.  Love you, girls!  If you are planning a girls weekend away, the St. Regis Atlanta is a no-brainer.  Fantastic shopping in Buckhead, whether you want antiques (which I did and I scored @ Peachtree Battle Antiques) or fancy schmancy, they have it.  And for dinner, we literally stepped outside of the bar at the hotel into a courtyard where the front door to Umi was awaiting us.  If Umi (the best sushi I have savored here in Georgia) is your ticket, be sure to make ressies far in advance.  I think we called a few weeks ahead and our only option was 6:30p or 9:30p.  Being the old coots we are, we took 6:30 and ended the night back at the bar at the St. Regis.  The bar is stocked with a full library and fireplace.  Perfect setting for cozy girl talk and cocktails.

Next on the travel docket is another momma and dada getaway to California the end of this month.  Pete has work there and I am tagging along so we can make the most of our anniversary weekend.  And because it's the Ritz in Laguna.  Big shout out to Gra Gra and Other Gra Gra for taking on the Doyle boys while we get away!

While there is no longer a golf cart in our life, there are woods and creeks for my little adventurers.

6 month check up

How is this for baby led weaning?

Rare brotherly interaction.

This is how much Tripp loves Palmer.  We are working on the vice versa.  Recommendations welcomed!
