5 Months & We Finally Bid Adieu

Not his best face - but the best we could get with this busy bee

I'm starting to see Pete a little more these days!

He loves a ball

Wouldn't take his eyes off it

I feel like the ball use to dominate him.  Not so much anymore.

He is very eager to start moving.  He's just waiting on those biceps to bulk up.

Play time in the yard is his favorite.  Those baby blues need the shades to stay open, though.

@ our friend Nina's baby shower with Parker! Play time where he decided to show off he
knew how to sit with all the big boys:)

Stroller time: makes for a happy or sleepy baby

It finally happened.  I got the nerve to say goodbye to my little nugget and take a weekend trip with Pete.  I always say, "Oh, I'm so tired. I just need a break!" or "If I could just get 5 minutes to myself!"  And then someone gives me the opportunity for a break.  And then I cry I like a baby.  Turns out the time away sounds good in theory, but my heart ached to be with my little man.  Being a mom is so much more physical than I ever would have ever imagined.  Motherhood is definitely in your DNA.  There is no running from it.  We did however manage to enjoy ourselves.  We were invited to Savannah for Liberty Legends of Golf Tournament.  My mom graciously offered to watch Palmer while we were away.  I was very thankful to have her watching him.  It helped me not panic quite as elaborately put my heart at ease.  Savannah is different than I'd imagined.  It was charming, but in the Louisiana-sort-of-way.  Not the Charleston-romantic-sort-of-way.  I loved all the history, the countless town squares, and the chance to sneak a peek at some of the historic homes.  Our evenings were action packed with elaborate dinners, live music from the most eccentric cover band ever and a concert with Jo Dee Messina and Lonestar.  Needless to say, while sitting front row surrounded by insurance professionals, I was the only one belting out the tunes and answering back the musicians when they put the mic out to the crowd.  It was highly embarrassing for the musicians entertaining.  Although things took a dramatic turn when Jo Dee Messina closed with Journey...

If you don't have the Vine app yet, you MUST get it.  Thanks to my niece Deme for introducing me.  I'm officially obsessed.

I am also currently obsessed with the app 8mm thanks to a recent Vanity Fair article.  You can record (or change current videos) to look like they were filmed with old time cameras.  It's a whopping $1.99 and doesn't suck!

Video of kick off dinner before the concert.

Video using 8mm of ferry ride from the Westin to downtown Savannah.

And just for mom's amusement giggles, here's baby Palmer trying to eat an avocado.

I'm far from a profesh at the app yet.  These were my first go's at it.  I know it can do way cooler things.  Hence, I will force baby Palmer to be my test subject while learning.

4 Months & A Lotta Action

March was about as jam packed as a month could be and April is shaping up to be the same.  Pete's mom and sister are visiting this week, my step sister and her fiancee come in this weekend and my niece will be down for over a week next week!  To top the whole month off, we will be leaving the weekend of the 26th for our first overnight trip without Palmer.  We are going to Savannah, GA for work/play.  I'm not as nervous as I thought I'd be with the impending separation...although I'm sure my tune will change as the day looms closer.  My mom is going to stay at our house and play grandma.  We have gotten into a pretty solid daily routine which should help my mom not lose her mind for 3 days.

For Easter we were in Miami with the Gallagher's.  Pete likes to refer to where we stay down there as Disney for adults.  I would say his remarks aren't too far off.

Friday night cocktail hour at Indian Creek
That spot between the palm tree and lantern is where Pete's grampa proposed to his grandma.  My new-mom-overly-sentimental self had to take a picture to send to her.

Friday night kicked off the weekend of gluttony. I had every type of seafood imaginable, including crab of all varieties.  Needless to say, I was in heaven.  These pictures are from the Sunday Easter Brunch.  There was an easter egg hunt for the mobile kiddos and more overeating for the adults.

Palmer had to rock that seer sucker one last time before it was too small

Palmer was ready for lunch, hence the tears.  You can see from those legs he's absolutely wasting away...

This was Saturday at the cabana at the Surf Club where we stayed. Pete had been golfing all morning so when he made it back to the beach he was on Daddy duty.  He's a natural as you can see.

His cousin Melissa took this on her phone - I will be printing and framing

Easter Brunch with the family

Our first Easter!

We also had a big milestone at home.  Palmer met his namesake Arnold Palmer!  The girls and I went to the club for Sunday brunch and Mr. Palmer was there with his wife as usual.  His wife had come up and said hello to Baby Palmer and Mr. Palmer was giving us the eye.  I used it as my opportunity to introduce the two and snap a keepsake picture.  I have it printed already and am going to drop off to have Mr. Palmer sign it.  This will be a great keepsake for Palmer!

Thank God Palmer didn't puke, poop or cry on Mr. Palmer

Palmer also participated in his first Arnold Palmer Invitational.  He was suited up and ready to go all weekend.  We walked around a bit but spent most of our time hanging at our friends house on the first hole who had stands set up.  Made it much easier to escape if Palmer wasn't paying attention to the "Quiet" signs.

The golf cart makes a happy baby every time

Perfect outfit for the weekend!

Mean-mugging the camera

Earlier today I tried to finally capture a few Easter pictures.  It may be a bit late, but Chrissy bought him this adorable Easter basket and Lindsay lent us a darling Easter smock so I couldn't let the time pass without snapping at least a few pictures!

He told me his left side is his best angle

Could just eat him up

Chunk!!!

Melts my heart

How adorable is that seersucker!?  Pete wouldn't let us take it to Miami...

Sweet Cheeks

Gimme that basketball

I wanna eat it

Just a couple weeks late...as per usual
