30 Weeks & Bathroom Extras

There's something about being in the "thirties" that makes everything even more real.  So do all the baby shower presents we've received in the mail from our Chicago shower guests!!  I was gone all week in Tennessee and came home to a room overflowing with boxes.  I sat myself down with my scissors and a screw driver and worked through the boxes one by one.  It was like Christmas morning!  We are so thankful for all the goodies and are excited to get Baby Doyle in action with all of them!

We leave for Chicago on Friday for baby shower numero uno.  I'm looking forward to all the festivities and the 60 degree weather!  Going to get to bust out the boots while I'm there!  I'm over all the maxi dresses I've been sporting this preggo-summer. I am truly looking forward to some fall fashion (and an appropriate place to sport it.)

Hopefully next week I'll have some great pics to share of all the fun!  Until then -

A mexican jumping bean seems more appropriate to me than butternut squash:)
And here's a couple of the new bathroom with a few accessories to spruce it up.  I'm working on some art for the "throne" room to make it a bit more "cheeky." :)

Should've turned the lights off to take the pic...

A little Fall flair

29 Weeks - Complete!

We've got our very own cabbage patch kid on our hands!  My trusty iPhone app puts Baby D at approximately 3 pounds and the size of a head of cabbage.
Our official cabbage patch kids birth certificate

In other news...Pete Doyle had never been to an Outback!!  Can you believe it?!  And neither had his brother Matt!  This week we remedied that situation with a feeding packed with steak, bloomin' onions, cheese fries and loaves of pumpernickel bread!  To capture the inagaraul Outback moment - we took a photo...
YUM!
Big week ahead - Pete's off to Texas and Georgia and I'm taking a trip up to Tennessee!  Both trips incorporate work and play.  Then once I get home the official countdown to the Chicago baby shower begins!!  So excited!  We've been receiving baby gifts for the past couple of weeks at our front door.  Feeling super spoiled to have all the baby gear arriving already!  I'm taking advantage of the fact that the gifts are flowing in one at a time to put them together as they come.  This way I can avoid being up to 4am one night putting it all together prior to Baby D's arrival.  Excited to kick off the shower festivities because I feel like it will signify we are officially on the other side of the hill moving towards birth-day!  Here's to a speedy, but fun-filled 11 more weeks!

Twenty-Eight Weeks

And we're back at the board!  The vacation travel led to a neglectful couple weeks of the board, but as we bust into the 3rd trimester we are back at it!

Approximately 2.5+ lbs - 16" head to toe
We used our new video camera/camera that 4 wonderful co-workers bought us for a baby gift to take this picture.  It does both HD video and HD pictures and then can instantly project your video or pictures on the wall!  Amazing!  We haven't really learned how to maximize it's use, but we're giving it a go.  It had it's inaugural film session at Dairymen's.  Those videos are not fit for public viewing:)

In family news- Pete's brother Matt is officially a Florida resident!  He starts work at the office with us tomorrow.  We are so excited to have him here.  To celebrate we have grilled out the past two nights for dinner!  He's a welcomed addition to the household until he find his very own digs downtown.  Until then we are looking forward to making him GrillMaster at Casa Doyle!  And even then we hope to have him around at least every Sunday for a go at the Weber.

Welcome to the 21st Century!

Success!!  Goodbye "green monster" - Hello tumbled marble tile.  By far our favorite thing in the new bathroom is the tile.  I am beyond excited to have a clean, modern bathroom for our guests to use.  Apologies to all of those that were subjected to the "green monster."  We hope the new digs make it up to you!

Without further adieu, here is the transformation (minus accessories that will be hunted down this weekend:)...

Thinking about some cute baskets for the bottom shelf of that vanity

The tile! I die.

Dairymen's Vacation #2

Ahhh...nothing like a long labor day weekend to recharge your batteries and get you ready to get back to work play catch-up on house chores, house reno and baby preparations!

We plowed right through to 27 weeks pregnant over our vacation.  We have officially entered the 3rd trimester!  Preparations continue as more baby books flood in from Amazon.com.  Newest on the hit list are: Dunstan Baby Language & What Babies Can Say Before They Talk.  I have been an information junky since this journey began, but I really just enjoy everyone's outlook on all this baby stuff.  Ultimately, I always think I know better than any of them anyway:)

27 Weeks
26 weeks and a few days:)  This is our pit stop @
Minocqua Brewing Co en route to Dairymen's

Once we got to Dairymen's there was lots of playtime.  We had the pontoon boat out everyday, we fished, we "eagled", we relaxed and of course we ate and ate and ate some more!

Pete, Matt and Scott - Our daily cruise on Home Lake

This is the lodge - where the constant feedings take place.
Can we saw Mackinaw Island Fudge Ice Cream?! (Sorry, Doyle's - it's not "Mackinack!"

Here's Matt and Pat playing their new drinking game
This is "Eagle-ing" on Blue Gill.  You catch a trout (thank you, Molly) then once it's deceased you toss
it from your boat and watch the two eagles fight for the feeding!  Very exhilarating!

It was a memorable trip that I hope inspires an annual Labor Day Dairymen's trip with the Brown's & Kennedy's!
