Are We There Yet?

No.  The answer is no, we are not there yet.  But we are here... in Atlanta...in a 3 bedroom, furnished apartment.  I was ridden with anxiety over how Palmer would transition into the new, much smaller space.  Here's his most recent picture...

New blankets to hide under?  Consider this place jackpot!!

He has been relatively un-phased which is the answer to all my prayers I've been praying for weeks.  We got here Wednesday looking like the Beverly Hillbillies with about 11 checked bags.  We brought what we thought would be our absolute necessities in case the moving truck spontaneously combusted in flames en route to our rental.  Fortunately they made it and delivered enough of Palmer's toys to make the living space of the apartment look more like a haphazard toy store.  As well as everything I could think of to accommodate Baby Doyle Part Deux's arrival sometime over the next few weeks.  The remaining pieces of our life went off to storage awaiting the big moving day in about a month.

I never posted any updates from my last design trip up to Atlanta about a month ago.  There was a lot of progress at the house and a ton of excitement happened at Laura Ramsey Interiors.  I died and went to Lee Industries heaven and customized chaises, sofas and swivel chairs.  I even got a very special chair from Hickory Chair that I've been drooling over forever.  Here's a little sampling of what I've been up to.

Sofa fabric.  Swivel chair fabric.  Hickory Chair linen fabric.

This is my Hickory Chair.  Die for bobbins.  Die.

Wood floors in - stain pending.  Kitchen coming along.  Went ahead and hated all the knobs I'd selected. Changed immediately after the visit.  I should stop going there until we close.

Right after that trip, Pete, Palmer and I went on a 4th of July vacation to Seaside, FL.  It was to be our final trip as a family of three.  We had 5 days in a little cabin across from the beach.  Seaside did not disappoint and we spent our days filled with sand & sea, walking to morning cappuccinos and afternoon food trucks, pool lounging and parade gazing.  It was the perfect way to cap off the end of our chapter in Florida.  We left for Georgia just three days after returning home.

Outside on the deck.  Outside is the only place he wanted to be.

A little pottery painting during the heat of the day.

Trying to capture a sweet moment WITH my boy instead of being behind the camera.  This happened.

Lounging poolside.
This Florida momma is sad to report her baby has a lot more country club in him than surfer dude.
He may look like me, but he's Mr. Doyle to the core.

Working on his kicking stance.

Enjoying his first summer love.

Even pretending to like watermelon just to try and hold her hand.

First parade.

Captain America.

Waiting on the firetruck we promised would come by.

Waiting on a food truck breakfast before hitting the beach.

And then the summer living came to a screeching halt.  And this happened...

Nothing like watching a band of 6 guys pack up your life in 2 short days.

Last time as Orlando residents.  Next stop, Atlanta.

Making sure Mr. G got a good look at all those clouds.

And here we are.

Waiting for our newest crew member.
