Hipworth Design Status

We finally had the drapery hung we ordered ages ago.  Somehow calling someone to remedy the box of drapes taking up space in my closet kept falling down the list.  The drapes are a cream and grey linen with sweet embroidery between the colors.  They instantly brought warmth and a feeling of cozy to the room.  They were ready made drapes from Laura Ramsey Interiors (of course.)

Pete's mom gifted me a beautiful painting of Pete and his brothers when they were little playing at Dairymen's.  Dairymen's is a very special place for Pete.  His family vacations there every summer at least once (and Pete fishes there at least twice a year.)  I hung the painting in the entryway aside three State plates.  Illinois from where Pete hails, Florida for me, my mom and Palmer, and Wisconsin for Dairymen's.  These are exactly the special keepsakes I hope to fill our home with.

I found an adorable antique wardrobe at Green Bean Antiques on Main Street.  The left side is filled with shelves and the right has a shoe rack and hanger for our coats.  It fit perfectly on the wall in the entryway from the garage and has become the perfect catchall.

All of the shelves and cubbies throughout have adorable little placards with things like sundries, underwear, ties, etc.  It makes it even more charming.

We got a cow!  We keep her in the office.  Nothing like a cow hide to really inspire a room.  I need to buy a larger jute rug to go underneath to properly fill the space, but I am really looking forward to using it as a jumping point for the rest of the design!

I found this little beauty at Peachtree Battle Antiques in Buckhead during my girls weekend.  She's a perfect fit between my swivel chairs and adds a ton of character.  That's a stack of Chatbooks down on the bottom.  If you don't have that app, get it.  It solves all the mom worry of what will happen to all those precious Instagram photos you take and never develop.

Recently I have had a bug to fill the landing upstairs.  It's where you walk into upstairs.  Down the hallway to the left are the Master and each of the boy's rooms and down the hall to the right is Gra Gra's room, Bonus Room and Laundry. It'd be great to throw a couple bean bag chairs, poufs, a great big cozy rug and a chest full of toys.  Just another place to land and goof around with the boys after afternoon naps.

We kicked the bounce house out of the dining room and brought home a gorgeous dining room table.  I snapped a picture of it in the store and posted on my Instagram.  We are going to paint the wall above the judges panel Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore which I think will really make the gold Currey and Co chandelier pop.   Then I can start to envision dining room chairs, rug, and all the rest of the accouterments.  The painter is coming by tomorrow to check out the room and a couple other fun painting projects I'm envisioning.   One of which involves a horizontal stripe all around our basement and one which is very much an inspiration from the recent striped cover of Serena & Lily's magazine.  Hipworth, the never ending design project.
